UCLA defensive end Owamagbe Odighizuwa is in danger of missing the 2013 season due to a hip injury, according to the Los Angeles Times. Odighizuwa had surgery on his hip earlier this offseason, and might take a redshirt season to ensure he fully recovers.
Owamagbe Odighizuwa injury: UCLA could lose likely starter for 2013
The talented pass-rusher might have to redshirt during the 2013 season and recover from hip surgery.

Odighizuwa will be a junior this next year, and will have two years of eligibility remaining after the 2013 season. His loss would be a blow to the UCLA pass-rush, as he was expected to help fill the hole created by the departure of first-round draft pick Datone Jones. Odighizuwa came into UCLA as a much hyped five-star prospect, but has yet to really establish himself. Unfortunately for him, he might have to wait another year to get a chance.
However, the good thing for UCLA is that this news wasn’t necessarily unexpected, and there are talented underclassmen on the horizon who could contribute early. Kylie Fitts, a highly regarded four-star defensive end prospect, enrolled at UCLA this January, and will probably see his expectations increase as a result.
