Gordon Gee emails apology to Bret Bielema

Gee apologized to Bielema for referring to him as a thug, one of the many outlandish comments he made back in a December meeting.

Ohio State president Gordon Gee emailed Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema to apologize for calling him a thug while speaking to an Ohio State Athletics Council meeting.

Gee made a laundry list of questionable comments about various topics concerning college sports, but specifically said that Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez thought Bielema was a “thug.” He also took runs at Notre Dame, Louisville and the SEC while he was at it, ruffling a lot of feathers. This is not the first time Gee has made embarrassing comments, and the Ohio State board of trustees seems to be getting tired of dealing with the cleanup.

Bielema was the head coach at Wisconsin for seven seasons before making a surprise move to Arkansas.
