The Belk and Texas Bowls are joining the SEC’s rotation in 2014, according to the Sporting News’ Matt Hayes. Hayes also reports that the Russell Athletic Bowl will get the first pick of the second-tier ACC teams.

SEC fans appear to have a couple of new potential postseason destinations.

The Belk Bowl is played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., and the Texas Bowl will be played at Houston's Reliant Stadium. Orlando's Citrus Bowl hosts the Russell Athletic Bowl.
These changes continue a trend of conferences shuffling their postseason tie-ins. The Big Ten and Big 12 announced a reshuffling of their bowl games earlier this offseason, too, as college football moves from the BCS to its new playoff system. All of the conference bowl tie-ins will begin with the 2014 season.
A couple of bowls with current SEC ties -- the Independence Bowl and currently-unnamed game in Birmingham -- are notably absent from Hayes’ list, oddly enough. The Chick-fil-A Bowl and the Cotton Bowl, two other traditional SEC games, were left off because they will be elevated to national-semifinal status when the four-team playoff takes effect.
