Former Texas quarterback Connor Brewer, who announced he would transfer after sliding down the Longhorns' depth chart, is considering several schools, per ESPN's Joe Schad.

Brewer was rated as the nation’s No. 4 pro-style quarterback during the 2012 recruiting cycle, according to 247 Composite. However, co-offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin, Brewer’s primary recruiter, left Texas to take the head coaching job at Arkansas State, and the Longhorns have favored dual-threat signal-callers in recent years. During spring practice, it became apparent that Brewer wouldn’t even be the team’s third-string QB.
When Brewer decided to transfer, he drew interest from a few college football powers, including Alabama, Notre Dame and Stanford. Oddly enough, the interest isn’t mutual for those schools, according to Schad. Wednesday, Brewer mentioned on Twitter that he plans to visit three schools this weekend, although he didn’t name names.
Brewer will have to sit out the 2013 season.
