Smack talk for the first game of the SEC season has officially started, with Ole Miss strength coach Paul Jackson biting back at something Vanderbilt corner Andre Hal had to say about last year’s Commodores win.
Ole Miss vs. Vanderbilt trash talk now underway
40 days until Ole Miss-Vandy, and they’re already chirping at each other.

Most college football games start six weeks from today, on college football’s first Saturday of the year. But Vandy and Ole Miss kick the season off a couple of days earlier in one of the games featured on Thursday, Aug. 28. And they’re chirping at each other already:
@parrishalford - in 41 days all the talking stops

Hal is right that Vandy held on longer last year -- a Jordan Rodgers touchdown pass to Chris Boyd with 52 seconds to go gave Vandy the 27-26 lead -- but Jackson is right that the rematch is coming up, and the Rebels will be trying to mkae sure things go differently this time around.
Oh, and it’s now down to 40 days. College football is coming.
