Urban Meyer denies he turned in Florida over alleged recruiting violation

The former Gator coach ratted on his former team over a recruiting violation that never actually happened, according to one report. Warm up the TAKES machine!

USA TODAY Sports

Update: Meyer denies the charge, while the Columbus Dispatch reports someone in Ohio State’s compliance notified the Big Ten about Florida’s eventual non-violation.

In a scenario seemingly straight from a college football message board user’s fever dream, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer reportedly snitched on a purported recruiting violation by Florida, according to Fox Sports. Making the story even juicier is the fact that the Florida coach involved in the rumor, running backs coach Brian White, was personally hired by Meyer in 2009.

The supposed violation involved four-star New York running back Curtis Samuel and the bump rule, which prohibits contact between coaches and players during non-contact periods. As it would happen, though, White and the Gators were cleared of any wrongdoing. Unfortunately for them, though, Samuel didn’t name Florida in his top five, but he did name Ohio State.

This story already has everything a message board weirdo could want. Urban Meyer -- who ran a ROGUE PROGRAM at Florida, who CHEATED PROBABLY, who QUIT ON THE GATORS and USED HIS FAMILY AS AN EXCUSE, who RAN AWAY FROM THE SEC TO OHIO STATE AND THE LITTLE TEN HA HA -- SNITCHED on his former team to try to get an edge to land a recruit.

What happened to LOYALTY?
