Cayleb Jones transferring from Texas to Arizona football, per report

Add one more to the list of former Texas players who end up suiting up for the Wildcats.

Cooper Neill

Former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Cayleb Jones will transfer to Arizona, according to YNN Austin's Mike Berman. The sophomore alerted Texas of his intention to transfer last month, and was considering North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, Clemson, Auburn, UCLA and East Carolina, in addition to Arizona.

The former five-star recruit’s future had been in limbo for much of the summer, as he was reportedly suspended from school after being charged with felony assault. Those charges were eventually dropped to a misdemeanor and he was suspended for the season opener, but it was probably for the best that Jones get a change of scenery.

Jones follows in the footsteps of Dan Buckner as Texas wide receivers transferring to Arizona in recent years. Buckner transferred to Tucson himself after a legal issue, and eventually caught 42 passes for 606 yards and two touchdowns in 2011. Jones only caught two passes for 35 yards last year. He's also not the only Longhorn transferring to Arizona this year:
