Washington Huskies tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins suffered a broken pinkie during Monday's practice and will require surgery, per Adam Jude of the Seattle Times. The timetable for his recovery is currently unknown.

Seferian-Jenkins, a 6'6, 276-pound junior, was Washington's second-leading receiver in 2012. He ranked eighth in the Pac-12, just behind teammate Kasen Williams, with an average of 65.5 receiving yards per game. He finished the year with 852 yards on 69 receptions and scored seven touchdowns. His best game came in a 21-13 win over California on Nov. 2, when he caught eight passes for 154 yards and a score. The big tight end averaged 12.4 yards per catch as a sophomore.
While losing Seferian-Jenkins for any games would be a big blow, Washington’s offense returns nine other starters from the unit that scored 24 points per game last season. The Huskies are coming off their third consecutive 7-6 campaign and will hope to take a step forward with 18 total returning starters.
