Vanderbilt Commodores wide receiver Chris Boyd has been indicted on one felony count of being an accessory after the fact in a sexual assault investigation, according to The Tennessean. Boyd is reportedly being accused of attempting to assist in covering up the assault of a Vanderbilt University student that occurred on June 23.

The junior receiver has been charged with a felony following the cover up in a sexual assault case. He is expected to turn himself in.
The 21-year-old is also accused in the cover up for defendant Brandon Vanderburg as well as Miles Joseph Finley and Joseph Dominick Quinzio, both California residents. Finley attempted to flee but was apprehended soon after, while Quinzio is still reportedly at-large.
Boyd, who has had his bond set at $25,000, is expected to turn himself in. The bonds for Finley and Quinzio have been set at $150,000 each.
Boyd was preparing to enter his junior year at Vanderbilt after emerging as an SEC threat last year, catching 50 passes for 774 yards and five touchdowns. That production made it so that he was expected to play a important role for the team in 2013 as well.
The Vanderbilt public affairs office issued a statement that Boyd’s suspension is “pursuant to the athletic department conduct policy,” Jeff Lockridge reports on Twitter.
