Alabama football to wear these helmet decals in memory of Mal Moore

A classy nod to the long-time athletic director, coach, and player.

Alabama’s classic helmets will be sporting a new addition this season. Joining the classic white and Crimson is a helmet decal in honor of former athletic director Mal Moore, who passed away earlier this year.

Moore spent most of his life at Alabama, playing under Bear Bryant, coaching there for almost 20 years, and later serving as an assistant athletic director. In 1999, he was promoted to athletic director at Alabama, where he presided over the most recent era of Alabama athletics, and helped upgrade many of the school’s facilities. His greatest triumph, though, might have been the hire of Nick Saban, a move that paid off with three national championships.

Moore stepped away from his position earlier in March due to health issues, and passed away ten days later.
