If the Louisville Cardinals are feeling any pressure from the high expectations attached to this season, they showed no signs of it Sunday, cruising past Ohio for a 49-7 victory. Teddy Bridgewater tossed five touchdown passes in the victory, and the Bobcats never found any answers for Louisville's offense. Or answers for anything, really.

Bridgewater was fantastic in his 2013 debut, helping the Cardinals rout the Bobcats.

Louisville started the scoring less than four minutes into the game when Bridgewater hit Damian Copeland for a 34-yard touchdown. That was a sign of what lay ahead for Ohio; Bridgewater connected with Copeland for another score later in the quarter, and he threw two more touchdown passes in the second, giving Louisville a 28-0 halftime lead.
Ohio's offense struggled to find traction because quarterback Tyler Tettleton never found much of a rhythm; he completed fewer than 50 percent of his throws, and to compound matters, the Bobcats' ground game was non-existent. Ohio didn't get on the scoreboard until the end of the third quarter, and by then the game was well out of hand.

Teddy Bridgewater looked every bit the Heisman contender he’s expected to be, completing 23 of 28 passes for 355 yards, five touchdowns and one interception. That was in just three quarters of play. Thanks in large part to his efforts, Louisville racked up more than 600 total yards of offense.
Rankings Ramifications:
Minor at best because Louisville came into the contest ranked in the top 10 in both major polls. Considering that one team ranked ahead of the Cardinals lost this weekend, they may be moving up a spot, but that’s about it.
