College football hot seat odds: Will Mack Brown, Lane Kiffin survive?

Sportsbooks are now offering bettors the chance to wager on whether Mack Brown and Lane Kiffin will be fired.

After ridiculous, embarrassing losses in Week 2, many Texas and USC fans want Mack Brown and Lane Kiffin fired.

And now, if they feel strongly that their hopes and dreams will come true, they can actually bet on it, thanks to the sportsbook Bovada.

Will Mack Brown be the Head Coach of the Texas Longhorns for the 2014-2015 season?

Yes +200 (2/1)

No -300 (1/3)

Will Lane Kiffin be the Head Coach of the USC Trojans for the 2014-2015 season?

Yes +110 (11/10)

No -150 (2/3)

So both coaches are, according to the odds, unlikely to be back.

Does it surprise you that Mack Brown is considerably more likely to not return than Lane Kiffin? It does to me, given Kiffin’s antics, and his lack of history with USC. Mack Brown has at least won a national title for the Longhorns.

Of course, there is the issue of Texas defense. It is so bad that one can now bet on whether Ole Miss -- Ole Miss! -- will rush for more than 225 yards.

Total Rushing Yards vs. Texas Longhorns - Ole Miss Rebels

Over/Under 225 ½

But, I guess things like this happen when a defense allows more than 500 rushing yards to BYU’s offense.
