The game between Alabama and Texas A&M on Saturday is so big, even the festivities leading up to it are getting televised. The Aggies’ traditional Midnight Yell, held the night before each home game, will air live on ESPN3 beginning at 12:55 a.m. ET.

A crowd of about 50,000 is expected for the event, and rumors about the possible appearance of Drake, who is a friend of Johnny Manziel’s, abound. Drake is booked on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Friday, but could theoretically still make it to College Station in time for the Midnight Yell. Texas A&M hasn’t ruled it out completely.
The Midnight Yell, if you aren’t familiar, is a pep rally of sorts, in which the band and students come together at Kyle Field to practice their yells for the next day’s game. Members of the student body designated as Yell Leaders run the festivities, which also include the singing of the fight song. Yell Leaders also are tasked with telling fables about how Texas A&M is going to beat that week’s opponent.
A&M’s game against Alabama is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday; it’s the first significant matchup between SEC West teams this season, and it probably will go a long way toward deciding who ends up winning the division.
