Alabama vs. Texas A&M 2013 injury report: Aggies down a man, but still deeper

A&M won’t be full strength against the No. 1 Crimson Tide, but it’ll be better than it has been so far this year.

No. 6 Texas A&M hosts No. 1 Alabama in the latest biggest game ever on Saturday, and neither side is injury free. The Aggies are a bit banged up on defense, and the Crimson Tide will be missing one player from the two-deep.

The biggest absence for A&M will be safety Floyd Raven. Raven missed the season opener due to a suspension stemming from an offseason arrest, and he made the first start of his career last Saturday against Sam Houston State. In the Aggies' 65-28 win over the Bearkats, Raven recorded two tackles, but he also hurt his collarbone and will miss the contest against Alabama. Starting defensive end Julien Obioha is dealing with an undisclosed injury and is questionable for Saturday's game.

However, it's not all bad news for the Aggies. Wide receiver Ricky Seals-Jones and running back Trey Williams missed the game against Sam Houston, but they'll be back in action against the Tide. That's good news for Johnny Manziel; the duo will help take some of the pressure off the play-making quarterback. A&M also gets four contributors back from suspension, including its top defender, linebacker Steven Jenkins.

After a week off, Alabama is almost completely healthy on the two-deep. Backup defensive end Dalvin Tomlinson hurt his knee in practice last week, and he'll require season-ending surgery.
