Due to widespread flooding in Boulder, Colo., this week, Saturday’s Colorodo-Fresno State game has been postponed, according to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy. The Buffaloes and Bulldogs were set to kickoff at 2:05 p.m. ET from Colorado’s Folsom Field. No makeup date has been set.

In recent days, Boulder and much of its surrounding area has received unprecedented rain, so much so that the National Weather Service described the precipitation as “Biblical rainfall amounts” in a warning bulletin. Classes at the University of Colorado have been canceled and will resume Monday at the absolute earliest, and the school has said 25 percent of building on campus have been flooded. Many roads in the area are impassable.
In a 15-hour span from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning, Boulder received 7.2 inches of rain, which easily broke the previous record of 4.8 inches over one 24-hour period in 1919.

President Barack Obama has approved federal disaster aid for Boulder, El Paso and Larimer Counties. At least three people are confirmed dead as a result of the flooding, and the entire Denver/Boulder metropolitan area is still under a flash flood warning. The weather forecast calls for even more rain through the weekend.
“The city of Boulder is just overwhelmed with water,” Barbara Halpin, a spokeswoman for the Boulder Office of Emergency Management, told The Los Angeles Times on Thursday. “I’ve heard from people who say they have lived here for 25 years and have never seen anything like it.”
