Update: Bo Pelini has apologized.
Bo Pelini ranted about fans and media in unearthed 2011 recording
A recording Bo Pelini didn’t even realize was being made surfaced on Monday.

A recording of Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini ranting about fans and media members back in 2011 surfaced Monday, and it’s ugly. Deadspin has the details and the full recording, but be warned that there is a lot of harsh language involved. The rant occurred after Nebraska rallied to beat Ohio State in October of that year, according to Deadspin’s source.
Pelini, who by every indication had no idea he was being recorded, had this to say about the fans:
Our crowd. What a bunch of f------ fair-weather f------ — they can all kiss my ass out the f------ door. ‘Cause the day is f------ coming now. We’ll see what they can do when I’m f------ gone.
The recording came just before the start of Pelini’s postgame radio interview with the Husker Sports Network, and it’s pretty lame that somebody would leak this tape without Pelini’s knowledge. This whole thing is unfortunate.
Pelini has plenty to worry about as it is; the Cornhuskers are fresh off a 41-21 home loss to UCLA that led to former Nebraska star Tommie Frazier calling for Pelini and the defensive staff to be fired. Pelini dismissed the comments when asked about them, but it may end up being more of a distraction than it should be.
All this and it’s only Monday.
