UCLA is off to a good start in 2013, winning its first two games of the year, including a 41-21 romp over Nebraska at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. Cross-town rival USC, on the other hand, is struggling a bit out of the gate with a 2-1 record and a home loss to Washington State. All of this pleases Bruins wide receiver Shaq Evans.
UCLA player on USC: ‘Awesome’ to see Trojans ‘struggling,’ ‘we’re going to beat them’
Shaq Evans feels pretty good about the Bruins’ chances against the Trojans this season.

Evans recently made an appearance on ESPN Radio 710-AM in Los Angeles, and he gloated about the Trojans’ issues and UCLA’s chances against Lane Kiffin’s team this year. Per Inside Troy:
Knowing that we’re going to beat them again this year ... especially two years ago when they beat us 50-0, we owe them a little bit. This year, we’re going to try to embarrass them, honestly.
They’re struggling. It’s just awesome to see that. I hate them. So I’m just loving it.
Well, Evans certainly doesn’t mince words. His play on the field has been solid so far -- nine catches for 178 yards and two scores -- but after such a bold statement, he and his teammates better back it up over the course of the season.
