Mike Davis and Daje Johnson will not play on Saturday night as the Texas Longhorns take on Kansas State in an early-season Big 12 showdown. Davis and Johnson are two of the Longhorns' most explosive athletes and their absence will really limit what Texas can do offensively.
Mike Davis, Daje Johnson out for Texas against Kansas State
The Longhorns will be without two of their most explosive playmakers on Saturday.
Both players were listed as questionable for the game with ankle injuries. Johnson missed last week’s game with Ole Miss while Davis did not seem to be 100 percent against the Rebels. Davis currently leads all UT wide receivers with 20 receptions, 223 yards and four touchdowns.
In addition to Davis and Johnson being out, starting right tackle Josh Cochran was also ruled out for the game. The Longhorns have struggled to protect David Ash all season long, and Cochran's absence will provide yet another hole for the Longhorns to fill.
Look for Ash, who was cleared to play on Friday, to hand the ball off a bit more than usual this evening with a couple of his go-to targets sitting on the sidelines.
