Update: Shaw is officially done for the day.
Connor Shaw out of UCF game with right shoulder injury
The Gamecocks will be without their starting quarterback for a while, as Connor Shaw left the UCF game in the first quarter with a right shoulder sprain.
Things have started out poorly for South Carolina against UCF, and it just got worse as starting quarterback Connor Shaw has left the game with a right shoulder sprain. He's been taken the locker room, and Dylan Thompson will take over for him for the time being, and it doesn't look like Shaw will be back today, but there's been no official announcement.

Roughly eight minutes into the game, Shaw scrambled up the middle, but he took a hit from the rear that jarred the ball loose. He quickly came off the field favoring his shoulder, but it’s not quite clear whether it was the hit or the landing that caused the injury.
In limited action this year, Thompson is 8-10 for 104 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
