Entering Saturday, Texas coaches were concerned about the pace of BYU’s new up-tempo offense. They had good reason.
BYU on pace to run for 672 yards on Texas’ defense
The Longhorns are getting absolutely trampled by BYU quarterback Taysom Hill and company.

At the half, the Cougars have compiled 412 yards on Texas' very talented and very experienced defense. Even worse, 336 yards of those have come on the ground, with 168 of them by quarterback Tayson Hill. Hill has touchdowns of 68 and 20 yards. Running back Jamaal Williams has 98, and Paul Lasike is also on pace to top triple digits. All told, BYU is averaging 8.6 yards per carry against the most advantaged and privileged program in the country.
The game was delayed by heavy rains in Utah. You’d think that would slow things down a tad, but nope.
