UCLA WR Nick Pasquale killed after being struck by vehicle

The walk-on receiver was walking home when he was struck and killed early Sunday morning.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Tragic news out of Los Angeles, where a coroner confirmed Sunday morning that UCLA walk-on wide receiver Nick Pasquale was killed after being struck by a vehicle in San Clemente this weekend, as Ryan Kartje of the Orange County Register reports.

A redshirt freshman, Pasquale was from San Clemente and had been given the nickname “Pacman.” He attended a football game at his alma mater Friday night, and was reportedly walking home from a party early Sunday morning when he was struck by a vehicle and killed.

Two cars were reportedly driving in tandem down the road, and one struck Pasquale, the San Clemente Times reports. It is currently unknown if the drivers are in custody, but police believe alcohol was not a factor in the incident.

News started to reach his Bruin teammates Sunday.

We will keep you updated as more details emerge, and please keep Pasquale’s family in your thoughts.
