Texas A&M’s marquee victory over South Carolina in Week 1 looks less and less impressive as the season moves on, but Kevin Sumlin and the Aggies will have a chance to notch another “statement win” Saturday when they travel to Alabama to take on the Crimson Tide.

Alabama has something to prove as well. After a 23-17 loss to Ole Miss two weeks ago prevented an undefeated season for the Tide, they slugged out a 14-13 win over Arkansas. Although the Razorbacks are much improved in Bret Bielema’s second year, Alabama’s one-point victory over a team winless in its last 15 SEC games still doesn’t exactly scream “national title contender.”
