Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon has considered neither resigning from his position nor firing Brady Hoke, he told The Michigan Daily in an interview Thursday.

According to Brandon, both jobs are safe for now.

Brandon and Hoke have come under fire following controversy surrounding the treatment of concussed quarterback Shane Morris, who was re-inserted into the game after showing pretty clear head injury symptoms in a nationally-televised blowout loss to Minnesota.
A student-run petition to remove Brandon from office received over 10,000 signatures, and students held an on-campus rally Tuesday in protest of Brandon. The athletic director addressed the protest in the interview:
"That's very hurtful," Brandon said. "Anybody who thinks that they want groups to gather with the topic being criticism and sometimes very personal attacks on the work and the job. It's hurtful. It's hurtful to me, it's hurtful to my family."
Michigan has reportedly already begun the search for Brandon’s eventual replacement, reaching out to the athletic directors at UConn and Boston College.
