Ole Miss at LSU betting odds guide and prediction

The Rebels take their perfect 7-0 SU and ATS record on the road to face LSU.

The Mississippi Rebels keep rolling right along, opening the season up with a perfect 7-0 SU and ATS record. The Rebels will be a small road favorite this Saturday visiting the LSU Tigers. Ole Miss visits LSU at 7:15 p.m. ET on Saturday night at Tiger Stadium in Death Valley.

Ole Miss is a 3.5-point road favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. While LSU is always a tough team to beat at home, Ole Miss has the talent on both sides of the ball, despite what the computer thinks this week.

Mississippi is getting the job done in every facet of the game, as would be expected for a team that is 7-0 SU and ATS. While Bo Wallace has thrown six interceptions on the season, all six of them came in tune-up games against non-conference opponents; against SEC foes, Wallace has thrown seven touchdown passes with no interceptions. Couple Wallace’s protection of the ball with the best defense in college football allowing only 10.6 points per games, and you’ve got a clear recipe for success.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: LSU 33.3, Ole Miss 27.3

For most programs, it would be difficult to find much fault in a 6-2 SU and ATS record through the first eight games of the season. But for an LSU team that strives toward perfection, the 0-2 SU and ATS record against Mississippi State and Auburn sticks out. LSU has handled its business against weaker opponents, but will need to elevate its game to see positive results over its next two home games against Ole Miss and Alabama. The Tigers are just 1-5 SU and 2-3-1 ATS in their last six games as a home underdog.

The under is 4-0 in Ole Miss’s last four road games and 9-2 in Ole Miss’s last 11 road games against SEC opponents. That recipe could continue on Saturday with Mississippi’s elite defense going up against an LSU offense that has struggled all season in the passing game. If Bo Wallace continues to protect the football and play within himself, the Rebels should escape Death Valley with a win.
