Michigan campus spray-painted green during Michigan State week

College kids and their college pranks, I tell you.

Beware, Michiganders: vandals are in your midst! No, not the ancient east Germanic tribe; their kingdom collapsed about 1,500 years ago. We mean those who aim to deface the property of others for fun and sport. And boy howdy, look what we have here.

We do have a few more observations to make.

  • We’ve established that this vandalism is not the work of ancient Vandals, but perhaps it’s by the University of Idaho Vandals, who are off this Saturday. Of course they’d use their bye week to spread their paint-based way of life on the unsuspecting populace!
  • Perhaps this was done by an extremely lost and confused Michigan State student or faculty member. East Lansing is an hour that-a-way, buddy! Just take Highway 23 north to I-96 and you’re right there. Honest mistake, it’s fine.
  • Doing this doesn’t make Michigan’s campus your own property now. It’s not like California fans spread out from Berkeley, going around the state and spray-painting the script Cal on everything they saw in LA, Santa Barbara, Davis, etc. until a public university system had been established. That’s all wrong. You need flags.
  • Besides, if Michigan State is so great, why do you want to put your mark on Michigan’s campus like it’s your own, anyway? Isn’t that just admitting what Michigan has is what you want? Annexation is the sincerest form of flattery, you know.
  • Is this about your father?
  • Isn’t it?
  • Isn’t it?
  • Craftsmanship isn’t too great on that “MSU” you spray-painted on there. Way worse than what Michigan put into the Block M. Kinda hasty, kinda shoddy paint work. I wouldn’t hire whoever did this to do my walls. I’m just saying, if we’re judging each campus on the handiwork here, it’s really no competition.
  • This would have cut way deeper if you did it after Michigan State thumps Michigan in football, which is almost certainly going to happen. Michigan State is great this year and Michigan is wretched, so you can safely sit on that one and just wait until the game demoralizes the Wolverine faithful to the point that they won’t even stop you from graffiti-ing their campus property.
  • Look, if you want to do pranks on someone else’s campus right, you have to wait until game day. The game’s in East Lansing this year, so you blew that chance in 2012. But next year, here’s what you do, courtesy of noted sports fan and talk show enthusiast Norm MacDonald:

Mustard is really hard to get out, you guys.
