Auburn at Ole Miss betting odds guide and prediction

Auburn and Ole Miss collide in critical SEC West showdown in Mississippi.

The No. 4 Auburn Tigers are 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five games against the Mississippi Rebels. Auburn hopes to continue that success on Saturday on the road against No. 7 Ole Miss. Mississippi hosts Auburn at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday night (ESPN) at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Auburn is a 2-point road underdog at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In what should be a great game that could definitely go either way, home field advantage could give Ole Miss the slight edge as a small favorite at home.

The Tigers are 15-2 SU and 13-4 ATS over their last 17 games. Auburn’s only outright loss of the season came on the road in a 38-23 loss to Mississippi State earlier this month. The home to road splits on offense can’t be ignored; Auburn has averaged 46.4 points per game through five home games this year and 21.5 points per game in its two road games this season. Still, the Tigers do enter Saturday’s game with a 3-1 ATS record in their last four games as a road underdog.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Mississippi 33.7, Auburn 30.3

Ole Miss went into Death Valley last week with a 7-0 SU and ATS record, but after a 10-7 loss the record now stand at 7-1 SU and ATS. Mississippi’s nation-leading defense did its part in holding LSU to only 10 points, but the offense couldn’t get anything going against LSU’s tough defense. Ole Miss returns home to where the Rebels are 4-0 SU and ATS in their last four as a favorite and 7-3 in their last 10 against SEC opponents.

Trends point to this one being a high-scoring affair. The OVER is 4-1 in the last five games between these two teams, 3-0 in Auburn’s last three games as a road underdog and 7-3 in Ole Miss’s last 10 games as a home favorite.

This should be a great game between two of the best teams in the country, and the team that loses likely falls out of contention for a playoff spot with two losses on its resume. Both teams will battle, but Mississippi’s edge on defense and having this game at home makes Ole Miss the pick at -2 at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
