Norman PD reportedly deleted this tweet about Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon

The official Twitter account of the Norman Police Department allegedly had some choice words in a since-deleted tweet regarding Oklahoma freshman running back Joe Mixon, who pled guilty to assaulting a woman after breaking four bones in her face.

The Oklahoman published an article on Friday that quoted Mixon's high school coach, Kevin Hartwig, as saying that the running back's character should not be judged by a "split-second decision."

As part of Mixon’s plea bargain, he maintains the right to continue asserting his innocence, although he was handed a one-year deferred sentence, 100 hours of community service and behavioral counseling. The video of the incident will not be released.

Mixon was suspended for the entire 2014 season in August and is barred from all team activities for the remainder of the year. The five-star recruit was ranked as the No. 1 all-purpose back of the 2014 class by recruiting services.
