Ole Miss got the biggest win in recent program history, toppling No. 3 Alabama and putting themselves in a position to maybe get to the College Football Playoff. How’d they do it? By putting this game ahead of the rest of their season.
Ole Miss watched Alabama film for 4 weeks before upset
How did Ole Miss pull the upset against No. 3 Alabama? With a lot of preparation

The Rebels started the season 4-0, but per cornerback Senquez Golson, they weren’t paying full attention to their week-to-week opponents.
Our Steven Godfrey shares the following from the postgame: “Golson said Ole Miss has been watching film on Alabama for four weeks.”
That would mean the Rebels started preparing for the Crimson Tide around the time of their game against Vanderbilt.
Golson, who had the game-sealing interception for the Rebels, said that their strategy of focusing on Bama “showed against Memphis, too!” Ole Miss had led the Tigers 7-3 after three quarters before eventually pulling away for a 24-3 win.
If true, this strategy obviously paid off for Ole Miss. The Rebels got their marquee win and can now go back to focusing on their week-to-week opponents -- although no wins are gonna be easy in the vicious SEC West.
