This was kind of a big week for TCU. The Horned Frogs made it through the most difficult part of their schedule with just one loss, and they demolished No. 7 Kansas State with a 41-20 win to jump to a No. 4 ranking in the College Football Playoff. While TCU will have to win out and sweat out a possible surge from Baylor — their one loss this year — they’re sitting pretty to shock everyone and make the Playoff in its inaugural year.
How to watch TCU vs. Kansas: Game guide, TV/streaming, odds
Can the Frogs continue their push for a berth in the College Football Playoff?

And still, the Horned Frogs didn’t have as close to as good of a week as Kansas did. Alright, maybe that’s not true, but wins are hard to come by in Lawrence, and when the Jayhawks took down 2-7 Iowa State, 34-14, they made sure to celebrate, rushing the field and tearing down the goalposts.
We here at SB Nation approve of every goalpost shredding, because we approve of fun. But a win this week would have nobody questioning a field storming. The only thing is, a win doesn’t seem very likely.
That’s because the Frogs must win out to ensure they earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. A loss here would incinerate those hopes, as well as any hope of making it to a BCS Bowl.

Two things at stake
TCU needs to win this game to make the College Football Playoff.
Kansas has nothing to lose, but winning this game would be a huge boost for the program.
One big matchup
Kansas defense vs. TCU offense: The Kansas offense has its own issues, though it showed some sparks against Iowa State, but the biggest point of emphasis in this game will be whether the Jayhawks’ defense can stop Trevone Boykin and the high-powered TCU offense. Or maybe the snow can stop them? That might be the only chance for Kansas to get a second consecutive field storming.
