When Texas A&M and Missouri came to the SEC, many people wondered how they would be able to compete in such a good league after coming from a conference like the Big 12, which had a bit of a worse reputation. But in the first year, Johnny Football and Texas A&M lit up the league, and in the second year, Missouri went all the way to the SEC Championship Game and gave Auburn a run for its money.

So which one of these inconsistent teams shows up?

This year, both teams are decidedly “meh,” though this game has a bit of juice to it after the Aggies took down Auburn on the road last week. This young team may have finally found its way under Kevin Sumlin, and the offense last week was as high-powered as ever to go with a huge performance from Myles Garrett. Meanwhile, a different Missouri team has shown up every week — the same one that demolished Florida and got demolished by Georgia.
This game likely won’t have a major impact on either division race like it might have in the past two years, but it’s impossible to know what to expect. At least that will be exciting.

Two things at stake
Can Missouri use a late run to steal the SEC East’s spot in the conference championship game from Georgia?
Texas A&M can show that it’s on the right track with another big win.
One big matchup
Missouri offense vs. Texas A&M defense: Texas A&M has had a shaky offense in recent weeks, and the Aggies seem to have gotten things straightened out. Still they’ve been wildly inconsistent on both sides of the ball, and this week, they need the defense to show up. Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk has also been inconsistent, but the Aggies much-maligned passing defense is a remedy for a capable quarterback to look great.
