November is the time for SEC schools to take a break from their grueling conference schedule to face an FCS opponent. The timing couldn’t come better for Auburn, which will try to break a two-game losing streak when it faces Samford.
How to watch Samford vs. Auburn: Game guide, TV schedule, streaming, odds
Will the Tigers take out their post-Georgia anger on these Bulldogs?
This will be two weeks in a row the Tigers have faced off against Bulldogs: Auburn lost 34-7 to Georgia last week. The week before that, the Tigers fell 41-38 to unranked Texas A&M, knocking them out of playoff contention. Auburn’s strongest wins came over Kansas State (20-14), LSU (41-7) and Ole Miss (35-31), and it has another opportunity for a marquee victory next week against Alabama.
Samford has already played a ranked power conference team this season: TCU, whom they lost to, 48-14, in Fort Worth. The Bulldogs hold a 5-2 record in Southern Conference play, good for second in the league. Samford is in the midst of a four-game winning streak, and this will be the Bulldogs’ final game of the regular season.

Two things at stake
Auburn needs to regroup after a rough two weeks before its season-ending clash with Alabama.
A win for Samford would be the biggest in program history.
One big matchup
Auburn rushing game vs. Samford rushing defense. The Tigers may have struggled over the past two weeks, but they still have one of the best rushing games in the country. Cameron Artis-Payne and quarterback Nick Marshall give the the team a dynamic duo in the backfield, and it's hard to see the Bulldogs being able to contain them.
