ESPN will simulcast a live broadcast of Paul Finebaum’s call-in show Saturday during the Iron Bowl, allowing SEC Network viewers to watch both the Alabama-Auburn game and people yelling about it. The broadcast will start after the end of Vanderbilt-Tennessee, per Richard Deitsch.

WHY YOU ON THE PHONE AND AINT AT THE GAME, PAWWWWWWWWWL

ESPN looks to continue to expand Finebaum’s role in the network. He was added to the lineup last year.
“We hope fans will call in and you can get fan reaction as the game is going live,” ESPN senior vice president of college sports programming Burke Magnus said. “The feeling for us was this is authentically SEC. Paul is sort of the cornerstone voice of the network in a lot of ways, from his daily radio show to his work on SEC Nation. It is something we have not tried before and we felt like this was unique to the SEC.”
Finebaum and his callers are well known for being a special kind of football crazy, scaring even Bret Bielema. He once claimed Texas tried to pay Nick Saban $100 million, and isn’t opposed to picking both teams to win a game (or firing back at coaches who take umbrage to those picks). If you need some additional background on Finebaum and his role within the college football world, Spencer Hall has a primer.
Auburn-Alabama will kick off at 7:45 p.m. ET on ESPN.
