No. 24 Marshall now has a loss, and Florida State is now the country’s only undefeated team in FBS.
WKU could’ve chosen to kick an extra point in order to send it to double OT, but with 132 points already on the board, the odds of ending the game by simply gaining a couple yards made the decision not that big of a risk.
The Herd’s loss now means someone from the Mountain West -- Boise State, Colorado State, or Utah State -- will finish this weekend with the best chance at the designated New Year’s bowl spot for the mid-major teams.
