It looks as though Tulsa will be in the market for a new head coach this offseason. FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman is reporting that the Golden Hurricane are expected to dismiss Bill Blankenship at the conclusion of the season. [Update, December 1: That’s now official, the school has announced.]
Tulsa fires football coach Bill Blankenship
Bill Blankenship has been unable to replicate the success Todd Graham had at Tulsa before departing for Pittsburgh.

Blankenship became Tulsa’s head coach in 2011 after previously serving as an assistant. He replaced former head coach Todd Graham, who left to become the head man at Pittsburgh.
Blankenship has a 24-27 overall record over his four seasons, including bowl berths from 2011-12. However, those two bowls came with rosters constructed mostly of Graham-coached players. Over the past two seasons, Blankenship has been unable to replicate that initial success, going 4-18 during that span.
That two-year record includes a 2-10 mark in 2014. The two wins came against SMU (currently 0-11) and Tulane (3-8). The Golden Hurricane have been outscored by double digits in seven of their nine losses.
