Watch the 2014 Independence Bowl: South Carolina vs. Miami game time, TV schedule, live online streaming

Two of the Southeast’s best football programs suffered terribly disappointing seasons in 2014. South Carolina and Miami both finished the year 6-6, and only one will emerge from the Duck Commander Independence Bowl with a winning season.

Miami opened the year with a debilitating loss to Louisville, but managed to work their way back into the Coastal discussion with a 6-3 start. The Hurricanes ended the season with three straight losses -- Florida State, at Virginia, and Pittsburgh -- leaving them with their worst record under Al Golden.

South Carolina knows a little about that -- this season’s 6-6 mark ties their worst year under Spurrier, and a loss would give them their first losing season under the Head Ball Coach. The Gamecocks’ 38-36 win over Georgia is the one saving grace from the year, which included losses to Kentucky and Tennessee.

Game time: 3:30 p.m. ET.

Rankings and records: Neither team is ranked. Both are 6-6 this season. The Hurricanes hold an 8-5-2 lead in the all-time series, and have won the last six meetings between the two schools.

Vegas: The line opened even, but the Hurricanes are now 3-point favorites. The over/under is set at 61 points.

Weather forecast: High of 49, mostly cloudy.

A win for South Carolina would prevent their first losing season under Steve Spurrier.

Miami is looking for their first bowl win since 2006.
