The Michigan Wolverines are still searching for their next head coach after firing Brady Hoke this week. While it's not easy to tell at this point who'll land the job, one former Michigan head coach thinks the Wolverines should go to the NFL to find their man.
Former Michigan coach recommends Jim Harbaugh as Brady Hoke’s replacement
The 49ers coach’s name continues to buzz in Ann Arbor.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has been mentioned as a potential target for Michigan, and 1995-2007 Wolverines coach Lloyd Carr thinks Harbaugh should be the hire. Carr actually was the defensive backs coach at UM during Harbaugh's 1980s college career, so he may have a little extra idea of what Harbaugh could bring to the table.
If it was up to him, Carr is making it no secret he would make Harbaugh the next Wolverines head coach, per The Detroit News.
“Everyone has an opinion, and I am no different,” Carr said Thursday. “If I had a choice, I would choose Jim Harbaugh. But it will be Jim Hackett’s decision, and that is as it should be.”
It just so happens that when Bovada released its odds on who will replace Hoke, it was Harbaugh at the top of the list. However, a report from ESPN says Harbaugh prefers to stay in the NFL, even if it isn’t with the 49ers next year.
