With a late kickoff time from the Arizona desert and conference tie-ins to the Big 12 and Pac-12, the Cactus Bowl (formerly Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl) tends to be a good one. Three of the last five games have been decided by three points or fewer, including an instant classic between Iowa and Missouri in 2010 and a grind-it-out slugfest between Michigan State and TCU in 2012. This year, it will be Oklahoma State vs. Washington.

Oklahoma State entered the season with high hopes. It took then-No. 1 Florida State to the wire on a neutral site in its season opener, and followed that up with five straight wins to rise to No. 15 in the AP Poll.
October and November weren’t quite as kind to the Cowboys. Oklahoma State faced the top six teams in the conference in a row and lost the first five, only securing bowl eligibility in an overtime victory over Oklahoma in their season finale,

Washington Huskies (8-5, 4-5 Pac-12)
Washington head coach Chris Petersen achieved something in his first year on the job that it took Steve Sarkisian five years to accomplish: win more than seven games. The Huskies had an extra game on their schedule (they played Hawaii on the road), winning eight, with only one against a bowl team (Illinois).
Washington had five different players rush for over 200 yards this season, getting a bulk of its offensive production on the ground. Dwayne Washington (655 yards, nine touchdowns), Lavon Coleman (565 yards, one touchdown) and Shaq Thompson (456 yards, two touchdowns) lead the way for the Huskies.
