Kenny Hill now second straight A&M QB arrested before season

Kenny, you don’t have to replace Johnny Football in every way.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Texas A&M quarterback Kenny Hill has been arrested and charged with public intoxication, as first reported by the Bryan-College Station Eagle.

Hill is expected to compete for the vacant starting quarterback position, most recently filled by Heisman winner Johnny Manziel. Manziel was arrested for fighting and holding fake licenses just a few months before his Heisman-winning campaign, but the Aggies probably didn’t have this in mind when they wanted to search for his replacement.

When asked who the current president of the United States was, Hill reportedly answered “Bush” and told officers his name was “Kennedy,” authorities said.

The Eagle reports Hill’s alleged crime is a Class C misdemeanor, with a potential fine of $445. The former four-star prospect played in four games as a true freshman last season, completing 16-of-22 passes for 183 yards and one touchdown.

Hill is expected to compete with senior Matt Joeckel (22-of-37 for 293 yards and two touchdowns) and true freshman Kyle Allen (the top quarterback in the class of 2013) for the starting job.
