Top JUCO RB recruit Jovon Robinson picks Auburn ... again

This is the second time Robinson has committed to Auburn in two years.

Kelvin Kuo-Oncea-USA TODAY Sport

For the second time in two years, Jovon Robinson has committed to Auburn, according to AuburnSports.com. Arguably the nation's best JUCO recruit in the class of 2015 and a former five-star high school running back, he chose the Tigers over Alabama, Florida State and Georgia, among others.

Robinson isn’t new to the recruiting scene. He initially signed with Auburn in 2012, but had to leave after just the first week of practice because he was ruled academically ineligible, as AuburnSports.com wrote.

(Robinson's) time on the Plains was short-lived. Robinson was ruled academically ineligible and departed after just one week of fall practice.

Robinson returned home to Memphis and sat out the fall of 2012.

Robinson was ruled ineligible because his counsellor at Wooddale High School was found to have changed one of his grades on his transcript. After returning home in 2012, he left for Georgia Military College, where he showed the promise that the big programs saw out of him in high school. Robinson rushed for 2,837 yards and 34 touchdowns with GMC in 2013, and he could be the nation's best running back recruit — or maybe even the nation's best collegiate running back.

Robinson offers a fantastic blend of size and speed. On the first play, he quickly gets around the offensive line, then makes a speed cut and puts distance between himself and the defender, all while carrying 220 pounds.

Robinson will play one more season at GMC, graduate in December and enroll at Auburn in January.

Auburn’s 15-man recruiting class currently ranks No. 3 in the country on the 247 Sports Composite, behind Alabama and Penn State.
