How to watch Arkansas vs. Texas Tech: Game guide, TV/streaming, odds and more

The Razorbacks hit the road to face the Red Raiders.

It’s an old-fashioned Southwestern Conference showdown when Texas Tech hosts Arkansas at Jones AT&T Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Red Raiders are dressing up for this game, breaking out a gorgeous set of throwback uniforms. It’s year two under dreamy head coach Kliff Kingsbury, but even though Tech is unbeaten, it hasn’t been easy. In games against Central Arkansas and UTEP, Tech has won by a combined 11 points. Arkansas should prove to be a stiffer challenge.

The Razorbacks let out some frustration last week in a 73-7 shellacking of Nicholls State. In the process, they put up 495 yards on the ground and six rushing touchdowns. Head coach Bret Bielema must have had a fond flashback to his glory days in the Big Ten.

How to witness

TV: 3:30 p.m. ET, ABC

Radio: Arkansas; Texas Tech

Online stream: N/A

The numbers

Rankings and records: Texas Tech enters the game at 2-0 and unranked in both major polls. After breaking a 10-game losing streak, Arkansas is 1-1 and also unranked.

Vegas: Texas Tech opened as a 4.5-point favorite, but that line has decreased to 1.5 points at most sportsbooks. The over/under is set at 66.5.

Weather forecast: 58 degrees and overcast.

Two things at stake

Yes, Arkansas blew the doors off Nicholls State a week ago, but the Razorbacks haven’t defeated a major-conference team since taking down Kentucky on Oct. 13, 2012. That’s a long time.

The Razorbacks aren’t the class of the SEC, but it’s a sure bet Texas Tech would love to boast a win over an SEC team.

One big matchup

High-octane air raid vs. Lumbering ground and pound

Texas Tech wants to move as quickly as possible and throw the ball all over the field. Arkansas would prefer to run it down the Red Raiders’ throats at a snail’s pace. And neither team is all that competent on defense.

Will Arkansas be able to control the game with its slow tempo? It won’t matter if Tech scores every time it has the ball. The outcome easily could be determined by the offense that makes more mistakes.
