Utah QB Travis Wilson leaves game after landing on head

The Ute signal caller has a history of concussions, so this is a particularly serious situation.

UPDATE: Wilson is back playing to start the third quarter, and has already thrown a touchdown pass.

Utah quarterback Travis Wilson has left the Utes game against Michigan with what appears to be a head injury. Wilson was scrambling and got completely blown up, getting hit by two players, spinning upside down, and landing on his head and losing his helmet in the process.

Wilson has a history of head injuries, so this is a particularly scary situation for him. He just barely received medical clearance to play this year after suffering a concussion last November against Arizona State. Considering the nature of concussions, it’s uncertain when he’ll be back to full strength and playing, or if that’s even possible. He has gone back to the locker room, so it seems safe to assume his day is done. Before going down, Wilson was a robust 7-9 for 92 yards.

Oklahoma transfer Kendal Thompson has come into the game as relief for Wilson. The Utes lead 10-3 in the second quarter.
