In a surprising move, Arkansas announced Central Michigan head coach Dan Enos as the Razorbacks’ new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Head coach Bret Bielema announced the hiring Thursday.
Arkansas hires Central Michigan head coach Dan Enos as offensive coordinator
Enos made two bowl games in five years with the Chippewas.

Enos was hired at Central Michigan prior to the 2010 season after six years working with Mark Dantonio on staffs at Cincinnati and Michigan State. After back-to-back 3-9 seasons to start out his tenure, the Chippewas were bowl eligible in each of the past three seasons, winning the 2012 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl and losing the 2014 Bahamas Bowl. Enos’ career record in Mount Pleasant was 26-36, with an 18-22 record in MAC play.
A former bowl-winning quarterback at Michigan State, Enos hasn’t been an offensive coordinator since the 2003 season with North Dakota State. He has never been an offensive coordinator on the FBS level, holding the position at lower division jobs Missouri State, Northern Michigan and Lakeland. His stint at Missouri State in 1999 is the only time he’s held a job in SEC territory.
Arkansas Fight points to Enos’s long history of success producing players and recruiting.
Throughout his career, Enos has a track record of developing offensive players. At CMU, he coached offensive tackle Eric Fisher, who became the first Mid-American Conference player to be selected No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft in 2013 by the Kansas City Chiefs. At Michigan State, Enos was the position coach for NFL draft picks Drew Stanton and Javon Ringer. He was named one of Rivals.com's Top 25 recruiters in the nation in 2009.
Enos replaces Jim Chaney, now the offensive coordinator at Pittsburgh.
