Notre Dame’s Everett Golson appears to respond to LSU report

This tweet seems more than coincidental.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier on Monday, NOLA.com reported that Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson has reached out to LSU about transferring there after he graduates in May. However, Golson appeared to deny that rumor in a cryptic tweet:

Golson started the first 12 games of the year for the Irish, but lost the starting job to Malik Zaire in the team’s bowl win over (ironically) LSU. Golson is scheduled to graduate in May and has one year of NCAA eligibility left, meaning he could theoretically play somewhere else without sitting out a year. However, if he were to transfer to LSU, the school might need to obtain a waiver due to his suspension for “poor academic judgement,” according to NOLA.com.
