With the college football season nearly over, this is the time when players are leaving early for the NFL. There are always some surprising early entries, but the most surprising this year? AN EARLY ENTRY PUNTER!
The latest NFL Draft early entrant is a PUNTER!
That’s a rarity.

Clemson P Bradley Pinion will forgo final year to enter NFL Draft
— Brett McMurphy (@McMurphyESPN) January 6, 2015 Punters rarely get drafted — only one last year and two the year before — so this is certainly a curious decision. The last punter to leave early? LSU’s Brad Wing, who wasn’t drafted and was cut from the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013, but has been a solid starting punter for the Pittsburgh Steelers this year.
Pinion’s average of 42.59 yards per punt ranked 34th nationally.
