Michigan State heads east looking to take out some frustrations as they take on Rutgers on Saturday night. The Spartans are still undefeated and ranked No. 4 in the nation, but have looked far from excellent over the past few weeks. They very nearly lost to Purdue last week, and that’s just not going to cut it.
How to watch Michigan State vs. Rutgers on TV or online, plus 3 things to know
Can the Spartans snap out of their funk in New Jersey? Here’s how to tune in, and what to watch for.

Rutgers, meanwhile, also can’t be happy with how they’re playing, but their situation is much, much different. They’re 2-2, and their wins have come over FCS Norfolk State and Kansas, who are probably the worst major conference team in the country. This has all the makings of an ugly game, but with the way Michigan State has been playing, it may well be close.

Three big things to know
1. Time to stop messing around, Spartans. Michigan State only beat Purdue by three points last week. The week before, they were only beating Central Michigan by a touchdown heading into the fourth quarter. They have looked far from their best post-Oregon, and this game will provide them an opportunity to get their mojo back. If they play to their potential, they are 100 percent a Playoff contender.
2. Carroo returns? Rutgers wide receiver Leonte Carroo was reinstated on Wednesday after assault charges against him were dismissed by a judge. Caroo was accused of attacking an ex-girlfriend, and several other parties involved in the incident still have charges pending against them. If he can get back up to speed on the field, the Scarlet Knights sure could use him.
3. Remember Kyle Flood? Yep, he’s still suspended for being a bad secret teller. There’s a very strong chance Rutgers goes 0-3 during his absence, but they probably would’ve done the same if he was on the sideline.
