Just when it finally looked like Nebraska was going to win a close game, after Wisconsin missed a field goal with less than two minutes to play, the Huskers were left heartbroken again. Nebraska couldn’t do anything with the ball after the missed field goal, and with just over a minute left, the Badgers drove down the field and got their revenge with a game-winning field goal to win, 23-21.

Nebraska is now 2-4 on the season for the first time since 1959. Previously in Husker heartbreak:
- A last-second Hail Mary loss against BYU in the season opener.
- After a fourth-quarter rally, Nebraska threw an interception in overtime to lose to Miami.
- Instead of running out the clock, Nebraska threw the ball on third down late against Illinois, giving the Illini a last-minute drive to win the game.
