RIP. Just days after being retired by the university, Texas longhorn steer mascot Bevo XIV passed away from bovine leukemia. He went out with a win over Oklahoma and well wishes from all over, including College Station.
R.I.P., Bevo: Texas A&M sends condolences after passing of Texas mascot
Good morning. It’s your gameday roundup of college football stuff.

Sending condolences to The University of Texas at Austin today on the passing of Bevo XIV. There's something truly...

Be prepared. It’s a busy day of big games, so keep this schedule close for quick reference. You won’t want to miss something great because you’re digging around your cable guide.
Friday night action. No. 21 Boise State got throttled by Utah State 52-26, and dug its own grave by virtue of eight (!!) turnovers. The game was over in the second quarter, and the Broncos are now essentially out of the running for the Group of Five’s New Years Six bowl bid.
BYU overcame an early 17-3 deficit and rode a fourth quarter burst to a 38-24 win over Cincinnati, and No. 24 Houston handled a Tulane trip, 42-7.
A new benchmark. Stanford was absolutely incredible against UCLA on Thursday night. It's hard to believe they're the same team that laid an egg against Northwestern to open the season, but even with that loss on their resume, the Cardinal might be the best team in the country if they play like they have been.
That’s not going to cut it. Bill Connelly goes in depth into arguably this weekend’s biggest game, Texas A&M vs. Alabama. The Aggies are better this year, but “better” doesn’t fix all the problems that were present for last season’s 59-0 incineration at the hands of the Tide.
Coach rumor tracker back. The coaching rumors tracker is launching already? In October? It’s not our fault schools have already lost five head coaches.
MASCOT FIGHTS is 15-6 against the spread and advises you to take West Virginia over Baylor, among others.
Lookin’ good. Utah will wear Ute Proud uniforms against Arizona State tonight, featuring tribal accents not normally on their uniforms.
Recognition. Though the Texas upperclassmen were much maligned during the losing streak leading up to the Red River Shootout, Burnt Orange Nation has some well-deserved kudos for those who helped pull the upset over Oklahoma.
Agree? Over at House of Sparky, an argument for a two-loss Pac-12 champion still earning consideration for a Playoff berth.
