The College Football Playoff will be announcing which cities will be hosting its 2018, 2019 and 2020 championship games — for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons, respectively — on Nov. 4. The following cities submitted bids in May:
Which of these cities should host the College Football Playoff Championship in 2018, 2019 and 2020?
The decisions will come out next week.

2018
Atlanta
Bay Area (Santa Clara)
Houston
South Florida
2019
Bay Area (Santa Clara)
Charlotte
Detroit
Houston
New Orleans
San Antonio
2020
Bay Area (Santa Clara)
Charlotte
Houston
Minnesota
New Orleans
San Antonio
The 2015 championship game was held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The 2016 and 2017 games will be held at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, respectively.
The committee’s choices will be interesting, specifically when it comes to Minnesota and Detroit. Bowl games are typically played in warm weather, and the committee will have plenty of choices to stay in traditional bowl spots, such as Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston and San Antonio. However, Minneapolis will be hosting a Super Bowl and a Final Four in the Minnesota Vikings’ new stadium and could be a good spot for a major bowl game’s first venture north.
The announcement will take place at the Big Ten offices in Rosemont, Illinois.
