Three things to know
1) SEC shakeup. For the first time since 2009, Alabama is an underdog. The No. 8 Bulldogs are undefeated heading into the matchup and have a strong, consistent offense that seems to be firing on all cylinders. The No. 13 Crimson Tide on the other hand, despite a dependable defense, has had some issues on offense adjusting to a new quarterback.
2) Big Ten play kicks off. As more Big Ten teams find their way into the Top 25, things could change quickly as they head into conference games. No. 22 Michigan takes on Maryland -- and a Randy Edsall team that may or may not have had a players-only meeting. No. 1 Ohio State will meet a 4-0 Indiana team, and No. 2 Michigan State faces Purdue. Unranked Iowa is playing No. 19 Wisconsin and have a chance to walk away with a win.
3) Can they pull it off? No. 6 Notre Dame is facing an also-undefeated No. 12 Clemson team for what could be a four quarter back and forth. Both teams are trying to prove that they belong in the top of the rankings and should be considered for the College Football Playoffs. Neither team is taking this week’s game lightly.
