Clemson’s ‘GameDay’ signs are fine, but first, let’s talk about the ‘NOTRE LAME’ one

There are more signs below. You might like many of them better than this one, and that’s OK.

ESPN’s College GameDay is coming to you live from a water-logged Clemson today ahead of their showdown with Notre Dame. The crop of signs at the GameDay set this week are pretty meh, but this gem demands a proper investigation.

Notre Lame. Get it? Instead of Notre Dame, the name of Clemson’s opponent today? It’s a novel jape that no one has ever used before, to be sure. I can all but guarantee that the second after this kid came up with the idea for this sign, he stood up and shouted “GOT ‘EM!” And he really did. But let’s keep going.

We can presume this person is a Clemson fan. The sign-making process started with Clemson orange, and lasted about 75 percent of the way through the first letter. The rest of the sign is completed with green, which he may or may not know is a color associated with the subject matter of the sign.

This sign is the definition of homespun chic. My man doesn’t need to use a yardstick or any kind of precision measurement to make sure the letters are evenly spaced, let alone level. He just let it ride, sat back, and popped the champagne.

Okay, now for the rest of the signs.

Ahhhhhhh yes, that is that extremely good ACC trash talk.

Kizer needs to respond. You can’t just let this kind of accusation sit there and foul up your reputation.
